At Another Year’s End

by on Dec.29, 2015, under US Politics

I’m not a super nostalgic person but I think most people start thinking about the year at its end. The “good,” the “bad,” friends and family we lost, tragic events in the US and the world. If I had to sum up 2015 in a sentence it would be:

“I’m glad it’s almost gone!”

On a global level, our politicians and other alleged “representatives” of the people haven’t done much for us. In the US they have not stopped the illegal alien invasion or lessened the scope and potential of Islamic terrorist attacks on US soil. Our border is not secure, our country is heavily in debt, and our president is once again living the high life in Hawaii. Spending a few million in a couple of weeks is something Obama is really good at. I just wish he’d stop proving it.

We’ve had shootings and stabbings on US soil to the cost of American lives. But Obama and Kerry are too busy playing footsie with Iran to notice. And if the US makes ANY effort to tighten its lax visa program? Iran feels they can make comments about it. There is a two-word response they should be getting, but they won’t from this passive-aggressive administration.

Our representatives just handed over pretty much every single thing Obama wanted – via the Omnibus bill. Funding for planned parenthood – check. Money for refugees – check. Even though most do NOT want even more “unknowns” in the US and we sure don’t want to pay for them. More special visas for foreign workers – check. Just what a country needs when some 20% of the workforce can’t find a job.

Speaker Boehner resigns and despite widespread dissent, those in power who don’t listen and won’t hear, elect, Paul Ryan – loser of Republican debates who once suggested as the new Speaker, immediately starts whining about what he won’t do. Conservative? Hardly. What’s in the water in DC to make these people think we don’t know they are promoting a crock of – something other than the truth?

2015 may end up being the calm before the storm. Obama has a whole lot of little tricks up his sleeve. Maybe he can plant a few Gitmo terrorists in American neighborhoods before he’s done. Or maybe he can increase our debt load by another $10 trillion. After all, what he does is all about his legacy – and his legacy has nothing to do with what is good or right for this country.

Assuming we make it to November 2016 – there’s an election. If we can manage to keep illegals from voting we might actually have one that’s valid, but Democrats have been whining about voter ID since the last election so no expectation that just going to get a FREE ID might resolve any issues. Will we be able to stop people from voting twice or three or maybe seven times – as they did in both 2008 and 2012? Not if the ACLU whiners are more worried about protecting criminal behavior than in our ability to have a valid and legal election. Guess it is all down to who benefits if fraud is allowed. Same party that benefited last time around is the answer.

So it appears that at the end of 2015, we’ve really not made much progress as a nation. It’s too much the same people pulling the same games with the same results. 2016 will give us another chance to make some changes. With 2.5 days left in this year – there is already no time to waste!

Outside of what we just can’t control, I hope everyone will have the safest and most prosperous 2016 possible!
