I was reading all the articles this past week about the approaching “fall back” of one hour of clock time.

If you’re planning ahead, mark the calendar for springing forward: Daylight saving time returns at 2 a.m. local time on March 13, 2016.

This time adjustment that happens in Fall doesn’t mess with my rhythms too much but that time-change in the Spring is a killer. I know the alleged reason they started doing this time-change business but if the US Government can just decide what time it is, let’s make a big time change and go back about 40 years.

Maybe they can explain to us how they’ve “time-changed” our dollars?

This is enough to make you want to go back to 1975 – assuming you were there before – but it will also make your head spin. Look at the 1975 costs – in 2015 dollars. A gallon of gasoline was .59 in 1975, $2.38 gallon in 2015, but the 1975 cost in today’s funny money would be $2.57 a gallon.

Can you say, “Not worth the paper it’s printed on?”

This messing with our money is being done by the same people who are trying to convince us that moving our clocks one hour back and one hour forward at different times of the year makes ANY DIFFERENCE! It really doesn’t! What is that quote I see online from an Indian who says only the US Government would think cutting a foot of cloth from one end of a blanket and sewing it on the other end will make a difference in the length of the blanket? He was right.

So this time-change business falls into the same category of much else going on in the US right now. It’s worthless and makes no sense OR savings to anyone. It’s about as helpful as going to the store with 2015 dollars and expecting to get value. We don’t, and for most of the US over the next few months, going to the store after 5pm will be a darker trip, so drive carefully!!
