I am already tired of seeing these stories of police officers either doing their jobs or maybe just pumping gas while in uniform, and they are murdered in cold blood.

I believe it is time to stop acting as if this is not some sort of planned war against our police officers. Apparently, those who would target police for execution, (because that’s what this is,) believe our laws are not strong enough to be a deterrent. Shoot a cop in the back – sure why not? Shoot at a cop instead of putting your hands up and surrendering? No big deal.

Well it’s time to MAKE it a BIG DEAL.

There is a murderer sitting in a jail in Harris County Texas at the moment. Here’s who he targeted:

Deputy Goforth had served with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years. He is survived by his wife and two children, ages 5 and 12.

The executioner shot Officer Goforth as he was standing at his patrol car pumping gas. After Officer Goforth fell to the ground from his injuries, the suspect shot him several more times to a total of 15 shots. Shannon Miles, the killer, is now undergoing psychiatric testing.

REALLY?

I don’t care if he has the mental capacity of a 5 year old! I don’t care what his prior problems might have been, I don’t care if his Momma never loved him, and I don’t care what he pleads. HE’S GUILTY! He was seen, and fortunately for the community, quickly arrested. But I don’t think any other citizens were in harm’s way. Miles SELECTED Officer Goforth for execution. And THAT shows presence of mind AND that he was focused and purposeful on what he decided to do.

I have never been a gung-ho person regarding the police. I just figured if I minded my P’s & Q’s, they’d leave me alone, but that they’d be there if I ever needed them. But now, it’s different. If I whine and complain about having to get up and go to work, there is little chance I will be shot for just trying to do my job. I don’t have to deal with people at their worst – either injured, or angry, or scared, or homicidal. But police officers do – every day. And now they have to be worried about being killed for wearing their uniform and doing their job.

Murders don’t wear uniforms so they are hard to spot, until they commit their crimes. But then we ALL know who they are and punishment needs to be swift, and final.

Shoot and kill a police officer? You’ll get your trial, but if found guilty – Automatic death penalty. No appeals, no excuses, no finding Jesus 10 years later. No, you did it, we proved it, now you die.

Criminals are targeting cops which I believe makes this a hate crime – although you’ll never hear this administration say the words. But we don’t need to wait around for what won’t happen. Change the law, enforce the law, and protect our police officers.

Do it, do it now!!!
