++ Obama weighs expanding background checks through executive authority

In response to the latest mass shooting during his presidency, President Obama is seriously considering circumventing Congress with his executive authority and imposing new background-check requirements for buyers who purchase weapons from high-volume gun dealers.

“Circumventing Congress?” That means circumventing – meaning to ignore and go around, the elected representatives of the people of the United States. If we have a president – which we do – who is happy to go around Congress, we are living in a dictatorship.

Remember in 2010 when Congress voted down the “DREAM Act?” That was going to allow illegal aliens to remain in the US free of the worry of deportation. Our citizens and our Congress voted “NO!”

In 2012, Obama grabbed his pen and with yet another Executive Action, basically passed what was IN the DREAM Act – and allowed amnesty for illegals.

How about “Obamacare?” Remember how contentious that was (and is?) Obama had to use his stacked Supreme Court to get the ridiculous healthcare plan through. And it’s backfiring on most Americans who are now forced to pay for insurance – often much higher than what they paid prior – and they still have problem getting proper care. In the meantime, millions who pay nothing have been enrolled in the system – which if you use your brain – tells you why the rest of us are now paying more.

In 2014, Republican voters expressed their disgust with the system by voting out many, many Democrats and giving majority control to Republicans. Then we waited. We’re still waiting.

While they’ve been “in charge” we got stuck with Obamacare, with Obama’s continuing lack of protection of our borders, with Obama’s horrendous Iran deal, with Obama’s Trans Pacific Trade deal, with Obama’s flooding of the US with “refugees” which cost US taxpayers billions, and now Obama wants to impinge on our rights to buy and own guns – a 2nd Amendment right.

This guy could come up with pretty much any lamebrain scheme at the moment and chances are, no matter how bad it might be for US citizens and the US, it will soon become true. No one stops him. And that means we are living in a dictatorship.

While the GOP is fractured and trying to decide this week who will be in charge, in fact, NO ONE is in charge. Half the stuff Obama has dreamed up since Fall 2014 would have died a quick death had the Republicans been worth the votes we gave them.

Time’s a wastin’ and conservative voters need strong leadership we expected before but did NOT get. Keep it up and Democrats like Obama, with little to no restriction, will continue to ruin the country

++ Amtrak warns of service cuts if Congress doesn’t extend safety deadline

Well that’s what it sounds like to me!

The Rail Safety Improvement Act, passed in 2008, set a Dec. 31, 2015, deadline for most commuter and freight trains to be overhauled with PTC — a new GPS monitoring and safety network aimed at preventing deadly accidents like the recent Amtrak derailment in Philadelphia that left eight dead.

I guess if you think you are completely irreplaceable, you can just take your time implementing safety requirements and then threaten lack of service when you haven’t followed the rules.

Wonder how well this would work for the average American? Not well I imagine.

The letter to Congress sent by Amtrak Chairman Boardman continues:

“Boardman went on to say that Amtrak anticipates that, starting Dec. 1, the company would need to begin notifying passengers of disruptions due to the PTC deadline. Boardman also noted that the cuts would affect both passenger and freight services.”

December 1. Just before the busiest travel time of the year. Is this a threat that would turn the traveling country upside down? Yes. But does Amtrak want to lose all that lovely revenue? No. So this IS a threat. They seem to predict that Congress will buckle – otherwise they’d never plan to lose even one thin dime over the Christmas holidays.

“Passenger service would continue on track that Amtrak owns, including a large part of the Northeast Corridor between Washington and Boston. But service through parts of Connecticut and New York would be affected.”

Amtrak has known since 2008 that this upgrade of their service needed to be completed. Seven years!! Sort of like how American taxpayers know their tax returns are due by April 15th – EACH YEAR. What if we just blackmail the IRS to get our way, on our own time, and our own schedule, the way Amtrak is doing.

If Amtrak gets its way, I think they are showing US the way. Might be time to start implementing.

Another wild, wacky, and lethal week for the US – with no end in sight.

We now have Vladimir Putin telling the US where to go (literally,) what to do, and when. Obama, having spent millions of dollars flying John Kerry around the world, has his legacy Iran deal – which nearly NO ONE approves of, and now things with Iran have never been worse! Russia and Iran seem to be teaming up against the US – a move no one wants to see, and who do we blame? How about a weak, indecisive, and narcissistic US President?

This power lapse by Obama and the re-awakening of Putin and Russia gets wiped out of the news quickly though when yet another lunatic opens fire on innocent people. We know little about the shooter, or his real “motives,” but what does Obama do – before nearly any of the facts had been confirmed? Make this tragedy a gun issue – again.

He gets up on his pulpit and condescendingly tries to dictate to all Americans, telling us we have a “gun problem.” Really? I think we have a lunatic problem. And I think we have plenty lunatics just waiting to lash out. But not all of them use guns to do it.

He had been trying to convert his co-workers to Islam and when he was fired for doing so, he came back, with a machete, stabbed and beheaded one worker, and then stabbed another. There’s a lunatic for you – and he needed no gun. So hey – let’s take away ALL the machetes in the US!! Do it now!!!

The United States has the highest rate of gun ownership in the world — by far. And it has the highest rate of homicides among advanced countries. Obama seems to, per usual, promote the rhetoric, not the facts.

++ Gun Rhetoric vs. Gun Facts

He’s had Joe Biden on some committee since late 2012 to come up with a way to take legally-owned guns from law-abiding US citizens. Why have we heard nothing? Facts get in the way.

Facts seem to scare this administration and this knee-jerk reaction to facts is doing a lot of damage to every state in the US. There are already so many new and ever-changing gun rules in each state that a person moving from one US State to another can be arrested for having a gun, legally owned in their state of origin. This seems like a set-up to me.

I am also still tired and angry for potentially having MORE of my rights taken because of what someone else does. The real lunacy and confusion is in threatening ALL citizens to take away a right guaranteed to them, because some psycho in Oregon murdered people. As sorry as I am for all the loss of life, I was not responsible for it, did not provide him with a gun, don’t know how he got it, and guess that if he was that determined to kill people, a knife, a machete, or a bomb would have been just as likely chosen as the weapon. This was the choice of ONE PERSON – not a entire society. And the entire society should not be preached to as result.
