Non-pork options have long been available to observant Jews and Muslims, who can’t eat pork products for religious reasons.
So who knows why this slam on the ham really happened. Apparently they spent time and money conducting research on the serving of pork products in US prisons, decided to stop serving them, and then reversed themselves in two weeks. Who did they “research?” Anyone??? Anyone not Muslim???
It makes you wonder doesn’t it? Was this about the overload of Muslims in US prisons? It shouldn’t have been. It clearly states above they have non-pork options already. But I wouldn’t be surprised. Obama and his Fed flunkies seem to be overzealous in catering (pun intended) to Muslims – it seems even to Muslims in US jails.
I think taking away bacon from US prisoners is a bad idea – and apparently so did they. I normally don’t think much about what US prisoners eat. I figure they eat better than a lot of non-prisoners which is a shame, but I think when it comes to bacon, everyone should have access.
In fact, I am suspicious of those who don’t or won’t eat bacon. The Federal prisons were on the wrong side of this created fiasco. In the United States, bacon will ALWAYS win!
