I’m amazed to wake up this morning and see this headline:

Can you say “distraction?”

A debate over Islam — first sparked by Donald Trump not correcting a town hall questioner who called President Obama a non-American Muslim, and now Ben Carson saying a Muslim should not be president — has unexpectedly shifted the conversation in the Republican presidential race.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve heard more than enough already about Muslims over the last 15 years. I also don’t think it is a requirement for Donald Trump to make any comments about what religion President Obama supports. I have my own suspicions based on things Obama himself has said, but they are suspicions – nothing more. I think for once, Trump did the right thing by not answering.

I also think this whole topic is just a distraction. As if we don’t have enough other hot potatoes in the world of US Politics – we now have to have the “Muslim” conversation.

Well I am sick of Muslims. I’m sick of their constant efforts to change the US. I’m sick of their whining and complaining about modes of dress. I’m sick of huge mosques being built in the US. And finally, I am sick of the lack of assimilation. Muslims set up their little societies in the US. Half those attempting to leave the US to join ISIS – were regular customers of their local mosque.

Despite their efforts, often assisted by the Obama administration, the US is NOT a Muslim country – and we don’t want it to be. Why are you here – trying to change the US? If you are so tied to your Muslim environment, why don’t you return from whence you came? It amazes me how people come to the US, take everything it has to offer, and then start whining. I am sick of it – and I don’t think I’m alone.

This Muslim-focused discussion has to cease. It is a distraction from the disastrous Obama presidency – which should be the main focus of any Republican “debate.”
