Who’s Flying the Plane?
by admin on Mar.14, 2015, under US Politics
I woke up this morning wondering if anyone is really looking out for the safety and security of the United States of America. A few minutes spent with online news sites and, I’m still wondering. If I’d just landed here this morning from some other planet I’d say one political party creates fires, and the other runs behind them yelling “Fire!” and tries to put them out. Problem is, while one fire is still smoldering, another flames up on the other side of town.
At the same time, I read that while both Obama and his Missus flew to the West Coast on the same day, they apparently couldn’t get their schedules together to FLY together – so they took TWO jumbo jets – to basically appear on two TV shows. Obama made a token stop at the Phoenix VA to talk about talking about the horrendous management and financial problems the VA is experiencing. Problem is, he’s been talking about talking about it for his entire time in office.
And the cost for flying them for TV appearances? Estimated at $200,000 per hour – PER PLANE. Suck it up US taxpayers. When was the last time you and your spouse spent $400,000 per hour? Yeah, me neither.
UPDATE/CORRECTION: Via Fox News – Michele Obama’s flight only cost us $28,000 per hour. I’m not feeling the relief.
Obama to me has always seemed like a guy who would be voted Homecoming King at some US High School. For anyone that doesn’t know, the Homecoming King and Queen reign over Homecoming Weekend at many US High Schools- which usually involves a big football game, sometimes a bonfire, maybe a parade, and an abundance of school spirit. I’m not even sure if they HAVE Homecoming Weekend anymore. The Homecoming King and Queen have no real duties. They reign as “most popular” for the length of Homecoming Weekend and they’re done. Obama would be a great Homecoming King. He would like the little school campaigning, like seeing his picture in the local paper, and like seeing his name in print. And he’d have NO DUTIES tied to his win.
I also see him as a person who calls himself “Captain” and wears the cool uniform. He walks up the steps to the plane, waves to the crowd, and then walks back to his seat like most everyone else. He’s not the pilot but he likes everyone to believe he is, and he enjoys the “aura” of his special powers to get that plane in the air and to its destination.
Problem is, Captain Obama has no real training on how to fly the plane. His friends who advise him on flying the plane have little to no clue either. He can sit in the cockpit long enough for a photo op, but that’s about it. He says where he wants the plane to go and someone WITH EXPERIENCE makes it happen. He has no other input to offer and none is expected.
Unfortunately for the US, WE are the plane. We have no pilot, no crew, and people who are consistently NOT getting us to the proper destination. In fact, Obama is unclear that the stated destination is in reality, where we are going. Even his “pilots” can’t fix that problem.
Not sure who said it, but that phrase, “Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way” keeps popping into my head. Obama won’t follow because he refuses to listen to advice from anyone. He won’t lead because there is a TV appearance, a vacation, or a golf game that sounds more interesting. And for another 605 days, he won’t get out of the way. I hope we don’t crash before then.
