America: A Ship with No Captain
by admin on Apr.12, 2015, under US Politics
I managed to make it through about five minutes of Obama’s rambling monologue yesterday regarding his Cuba “mission” and I had to ask myself again, “Who IS this person?” And, “Why is he shaking hands with a Castro?”
He’s never made much sense to me – going back to 2007 when I first heard his name. He rambles on with too many “aahs” and he gets a blank stare sometimes – right in the middle of what he’s saying. This does not inspire confidence.
He also seems to fall back on his same keywords and buzz-phrases like “That’s not who we are,” and “It’s the right thing to do.” When you hear one of those, know that what he’s talking about likely goes against ANYTHING having to do with “who we are” and most often, what he does is not in my book of “the right thing to do.”
I have known this from Day One and I still can’t figure out how he was suddenly nominated in 2007 and how he’s been elected – twice. This doesn’t mean that I don’t think there was something very sneaky about him from the beginning – but more that I cannot believe so many people fell for it.
He seems to hate everything to do with America and even worse – he has no apparent understanding of what most Americans think “being American” really is. And as far as fulfilling any campaign goals, he seems to have lost the plot.
In Obamaland, it’s more important to make “historic” new agreements – whether Americans are for them or not. It’s important to release terrorists from Gitmo – whether citizens, or their congressional representatives, or their military, advise against it or not. It’s important to trade a deserter for terrorists, without even notifying those who SHOULD have been notified in advance. It’s important to flood the US with illegals and with refugees who immediately clash with American culture and oh by the way, put the financial burden for doing so – on American taxpayers. It’s important to develop a wasteful, ineffective, and expensive healthcare scheme and put his name on it – while hiding the fact that it is guaranteed to fail. And it’s more important to shake hands with a repressive regime in Cuba than to meet with a long-term ally like Prime Minister Netanyahu.
I’ve come to believe that Obama is not about policy, he’s about publicity. And he doesn’t care whether the publicity is positive or negative. As long as his name is in the headlines, he believes he is successful. He’s not.
America and its citizens are suffering. Some 90 million of us are unemployed or under-employed. We’re taxed to death for all but breathing air, over-regulated, and harassed by Obama’s administration through the DOJ, EPA, DHS, NSA and the IRS. Our representatives are ignored, our borders are not secure, our freedoms are constantly threatened and Obama has added more to our country’s financial deficit than ALL OTHER US PRESIDENTS COMBINED!
We’ve been played as a nation by Obama and because of his complete lack of experience and subsequent incompetence, America is now being played by much of the world.
I was around 20 years old when Richard Nixon was impeached. I remember thinking then that it was an embarrassment that the US had selected someone BAD enough TO be impeached. Obama is getting a free pass from Congress on too many issues and I think I know why. But the cost to the country of a coddled president is only beginning and from some of his actions we may never completely recover.
As a country, we’ll be sailing down the river going the wrong way for about another 570 days. I just hope in 2016 we elect a Captain – not another untrained passenger.
