It’s bad enough when someone in your personal life lies to you, manipulates you, or makes you make poor choices because they never tell you the full and complete truth. These are standard practices of narcissists and low-lifes who think the rest of us are just here to be used. Anyone who has experienced this will feel the hair on the back of their neck stand up while reading this since the experience is ALWAYS painful – emotionally, and often financially.

Extend the proportion of this “pain” out to the circumstances of your own GOVERNMENT lying to you, as a citizen. While one assumes there is ALWAYS something going on we taxpayers aren’t privy to, this current administration has taken it to an art form or as they would call it in the military, “SOP” – Standard Operating Procedure.

Even worse, since many of these government perpetrators have official positions, they can lie, hide, deceive, and sometimes just make things up, and they have an air of “official” authority to back up their evil intentions.

I am just sick of it.

I’m not a perfect person but I try. I’m honest, I am responsible, and I treat others with respect – until they prove they don’t deserve it. I think the large majority of citizens of the United States do the same. “Live and let live” used to really mean something in the US. Be considerate of others and hey, maybe we CAN all get along.

I’ve seen a near complete reversal of this in the last 15 years or so. The US Government started going downhill fast with the improperly named “Patriot Act.” This had nothing to do with “patriots.” In fact it SEEMS to focus more on what citizens might be doing than in curtailing any known or seemingly obvious threat to our country. If the Patriot Act was doing ITS job, this country would not allow an estimated 30 MILLION illegal aliens to get here, and stay here. The DHS and TSA, which cost taxpayers BILLIONS – seem to only do their appointed jobs, sometimes, for some people – making their alleged purpose all but a expensive joke on US citizens.

And the current president? What can I say? Other than that I never voted for him. That doesn’t help because I am still stuck with his corruption of our Constitution, his appointment of other inexperienced, radical, and non-American people to important posts, his manipulation of facts to suit his purposes, and the loss of US influence across the board. It feels as if we are caught in a flood, floating against our will down a raging river and rapidly approaching a waterfall, and we can’t find anything to grab hold of to stop our sure demise.

Since we know we are dealing with liars and manipulators it makes what’s happening in our country even worse – because 90% of it is all avoidable. We didn’t need to drive near the raging river – we could have taken many detours. We saw the warning and caution signs, but unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to drive the car. And now here we are – wondering why we are about to drown.

I think it might be time for us to forcibly take the keys. We deserve better and what better is has nothing to do with being lied to and manipulated. Our Constitution is a strong document against this happening but it is being ignored or abused. It may not be like having the keys, but it at least insures we have a say so in what direction we are driving.

It doesn’t seem like to much to ask – especially while WE are paying all the travel expenses…
