ZeroWater – An End to Plastic Bottles

by on Mar.02, 2014, under Uncategorized

Looking for a way to cut down on dissolved solids in your drinking water? Tired of paying for bottled water?

If you can’t afford a reverse osmosis system for your home or you rent and can’t put one in where you live, have a look at ZeroWater products as a great alternative.

Zero Water products

I drink a LOT of water – even more than my daily consumption of coffee – which also requires water. I realized that at $3.00 to $4.00 for a case of Dasani or $3.00 for a 2.5 gallon spout jug of water, I was spending a LOT of money on water. This also meant that I was using a lot of plastic water bottles – adding to the woes of the environment.

I purchased a ZeroWater 10-cup pitcher for $34.99 and after slightly over a month, it’s paid for itself!

The unit comes with a filter which, after a month of use, is still showing a “0” on TDS in my now-filtered water. I tested my tap water with the meter provided with the unit and the level of total dissolved solids (TDS) coming from the tap was – 225!!! Not good!

Does it get rid of every possible water contaminant? No. But it does make the water taste better – since water shouldn’t even HAVE the taste my tap water had prior!!

All you can do these days is protect yourself from ingesting as many chemicals as you can reasonably avoid. We can’t stop everything, but if you are a heavy water-drinker as I am, (and I hope you are since your body needs it!) consider a ZeroWater pitcher for your home.

More snow, sleet, ice (take your pick) on tap for southern states again this week. It’s getting a little bit annoying so time to think about spring and that it WILL eventually arrive.

Here’s a good place to retreat and think about products to improve your outdoor environment for the spring and summer to come!

What’s the Temperature?

by on Feb.05, 2014, under Uncategorized

How many times has that particular question come up lately? Many of us have instead been saying “It’s going down to WHAT degree?”

For me, February is a rather depressing month. All the big holidays are behind us, the New Year is not “new” any longer, and there’s still over a month before spring.

So, this seems like as good a time as any to look for a new outdoor thermometer and clock – and to think positive for the remaining 43 days until spring and the 32 days left until Daylight Savings Time begins on March 9, 2014.

Here’s one for your favorite bass fisher…

A Healthy 2014

by on Jan.13, 2014, under Uncategorized

Here’s a good place to start!

Hale Indian River Groves is located in Indian River County near Vero Beach and Wabasso, the very heart of the famous Indian River Citrus Belt — a relatively small but premier citrus producing area in Florida.

Hale Groves is fortunate to have a special combination of rich soil, ample water supply, and moderate climate – very rarely reaching a freezing temperature. All this, combined with their modern grove management, are contributing factors that make their oranges and grapefruit the juiciest and best tasting you will find.

Combine USA-grown fruits like these with a little of your own hydroponics, and you’ll be well ahead of most for a healthier 2014.
