Trust Matters

What’s the point of making deals with people you can’t trust? What’s the point of laying out rules of a game if only half the players follow them – or someone changes the rules mid-game , and only notifies half the players? Without trust, what’s the point? Why would anyone ever watch a football game, or sign their name to any document? What would happen to the key component of any deal or any game, TRUST, if all the other participants just lied?
It seems to me, the President and the government of the United States, by their own actions, have betrayed trust. Repeatedly.
I’m sorry to have to say this, but President Obama is a liar. And since he’s the top dog in the land at the moment, the resulting little trickle of lies which has become a GUSHER is damaging this country.
He also doesn’t follow the RULES – which in his case might be called the US Constitution. And somehow he gets away with it. He broke the law when he released five terrorists from Gitmo without notifying Congress. Yes, he BROKE THE LAW. And what did we get in return? A person who had DESERTED his post and by his actions, caused the death of at least six honorable soldiers. For this dubious person, President Obama BROKE THE LAW. And it appears he’s once again gotten off with NO PENALTY for doing so!
Why did Obama do this – which would seem to the majority of common sense thinkers to be a BAD DEAL? Because Obama, all on his own, decided that closing Gitmo was a good idea. It doesn’t matter how many knowledgeable people told him this was a bad idea. He appears to not be open to any incoming info that doesn’t agree with what he thinks.
US citizens have watched Secretary of State Kerry fly all over the world – no doubt contributing to that “global warming” they are allegedly so worried about – to seek a “deal” with Iran. So now we have the untrustworthy trying to beg a deal from more who have proven they can’t be trusted, and nuclear capability is at the end of it. Even the little bits of info we’ve received about this “deal” are not good. The deal deadline has been extended at least twice, and Iran, who had NO nuclear capability when Obama took office, is gradually getting more and more concessions from the US deal makers.
If Obama and Kerry would get their egos out of this “game” and just take the football and go home, we’d all be better off. That is what a person or group with trust and integrity would do. You can’t deal with people you can’t trust – and this is potentially the most important deal of the century. But since you have people you can’t trust making deals with others you also can’t trust, NO ONE WILL WIN.
Kerry is expecting a Nobel Peace Prize for his Iran deal and Obama is desperately seeking SOMETHING to hang his hat on to warrant his presidency. And while they are focused on their personal goals, the US AND the Middle East may be thrust into even more dangerous territory – something no one wants.
I don’t trust this president and I don’t trust Kerry because they don’t have the country’s or the world’s best interests at heart – only their own personal ideologies and desires. NO ONE is playing by any rules, they keep changing rules behind closed doors, and the SURPRISE at the end will not be good. Obama has repeatedly betrayed US citizens by skirting or ignoring laws he doesn’t like. This time will be no different.
