You know those mornings when it is just so hard to get out of bed? Ever have a project that needs to be done but you just can’t work up the focus or interest to get it done? Ever go to a really nice restaurant and once you get there, you realize nothing really appeals?

Well the GOP is about to once again fall into a category like those listed above. Remember the November 2014 elections? Remember how many Republicans won offices – in places where it was not expected? Yeah, me too. Despite the wins, and despite the campaign claims of those who were voted in, many voters like myself are now in the throes of apathy. And many of us wonder why we bothered to vote at all. It’s hard to see any real difference since November. Obama keeps screwing things up and coming up with more outrageous plans to interfere with the lives of American citizens and, nothing happens.

I am fighting apathy BIG TIME at the moment – 17 months before the next election. And nothing I am seeing or hearing spikes much interest in the 2016 election. At this point in time, the GOP has a slim chance of recovering its base but I have a feeling they will blow it. They appear to be too cowed by the “Hispanic vote” to worry about the wishes of conservative American citizens. And that will be their downfall.

Even worse, none seem to know what they are doing from day to day. They worry only about saying the “right” thing – which is seldom the same as politically “right” and scoring big money from big donors takes up way too much of their time. I have to wonder if they even know they will lose again – and perhaps never put another Republican in the White House, if they don’t start focusing on conservative voters.

What do conservatives want? Well, I can’t answer for all but I can tell you my top three – and I’m not hearing anything I can count on from the current herd of candidates or potential candidates:

1. I want illegal immigrants out of this country. No vague promises will do. We need to hear a plan, a start date, and an end date. We cannot afford our own citizens without somehow incurring $18 trillion in debt. The illegals need to go for economic survival if nothing else.

2. I want ISIS destroyed. Quickly. No more pussy-footing around sending advisers to the Middle East who are allowed to actually DO very little. We have the equipment and the know how to STOP this terrorist, murdering hoard. Why aren’t we doing it, and what are we waiting for? They are slaughtering innocent people by the thousands and we CAN stop it – if Obama would just get out of the way.

3. I want accountability. Forget “transparency.” The last person who used that particular word has been the most “un-transparent” president in US history.

But if the IRS is not doing its job for taxpayers but is sending out billions in fraudulent refund checks, I want to know why, and I want it stopped – immediately.

If the US Department of Health & Human Services is paying out billions in fraudulent payments to Medicaid scammers, I want it called out and stopped – immediately.

If Federal employees are watching porn all day on computers WE pay for and then somehow can’t be fired from their 6-figure jobs – I want them fired – immediately. Same as anyone in the private sector would be fired.

If any Federal Government agency is throwing lavish parties and “retreats” at places like Las Vegas – while they are begging taxpayers for more money, I want it found and stopped – immediately.

I live a very frugal life – like most of my fellow citizens. I don’t carry debt with maybe a mortgage as exception, I don’t buy what I can’t afford, and I plan ahead as much as possible for emergencies. I also don’t make stupid choices – figuring I can borrow from or scam from someone else if I get into trouble. This does not require an advanced degree – it’s basic common sense. And if I don’t start hearing some of it from ANY Republican candidate soon, I guess common sense will tell me they apparently want to lose.
