Time to make sure the use of the wood stove goes smoothly again this year.

You can review my 3-year’s experience with my Century Hearth wood stove, (Model #FW240007) and read some info from the stove’s installer on the Rose Cottage Ltd web site.

Here are a few of the more necessary items for wood stove usage and a suggested model or two if you’re now ready to make your first wood stove purchase. Just FYI: The first model shown is closest to the Century Hearth wood stove I have in my home.

This Woodburning Stove With Cast Legs is an excellent choice for heating an area of 1,200-1,800 sq.ft. It is efficient – able to produce up to 60,000 Btus.

It’s clean, producing only 2 grams of emissions, and EPA-certified.

Cutting edge construction uses stainless steel tubes and ceramic fiberboard to create a clean, hot burn that lasts for hours. Coupled with an extra-large door glass and the included door trim, lip and ash apron trim, this stove becomes a perfect fit – and a most efficient heater – for any moderately sized home. The non-catalytic firebox provides superior insulation and a beautiful burn. Has a large stay clean fire view window.

The Freestanding Wood Stove is EPA-certified and combines a charming European look with the latest technology to make this stove burn cleanly and efficiently. The non-catalytic firebox provides superior insulation and a beautiful burn, enhanced by a hidden hinged cast iron door with a large stay clean fire view window.

This plate steel unit heats 800-1,200 sq.ft, making it ideal for large sized rooms. It’s outside air-adaptable as well.

Complete installation guide and use instructions (included), plus an extra customer service line, make it easy and convenient to get this efficient, clean-burning stove up and running.

To efficiently heat larger homes, click the link for a look at this “Big Brother” of the wood stove world! The (Large) Woodburning Stove with Cast Legs – same as the first stove shown here, heats areas 1800 to 2200 square feet.

And a few accessories…

This Enamel Steamer Kettle will come in handy for those cold winter days when the electricity goes off and a nice cup of coffee or tea would really be nice!

Add much-needed moisture to dry winter air with this traditional 3-qt. Enamel Steamer Kettle.

The classic round kettle design features a honeycomb top that allows more moisture into the air for soothing relief and a durable, rust-resistant finish.

Solid cast iron and porcelain enamel- will not be harmed if it runs dry.

Having one of these has really come in handy!

This Heavy-Duty Adjustable Log Rack is built from strong 2″ square-cut tubular steel and bolted together for extra strength. It will last as long as you can keep piling logs into it.

Included steel inserts allow you to expand it from 4′ to 8′ in length to match your storage needs. Simple styling with a powder-coat finish. No-scratch plastic feet.

HINT: You’ll definitely want to buy a log rack cover…

Another wood stove necessity is a safe, Ash Bucket.

This Turkish-made galvanized steel bucket holds three gallons of warm ash safely and securely, with a tight-fitting, lightweight aluminum lid.

A double-layer steel bottom offers additional protection for floors, and an insulated wooden handle protects hands.

Textured powder-coat finish.

10.5″ diameter, 12″ high.

Just for fun I purchased a steaming dragon of my own!

The Dragon Woodstove Steamer really works and helps add needed moisture to dry Winter environments.

Kids LOVE it! You might even get them interested enough to help you haul in some kindling!

Last but not least – Fatwood. Not really a necessity, but it sure saves time and comes in handy when it’s cold, and raining, and you have no easy access to dry kindling…

This stylish yet rustic Mini Handcrafted Copper-Plated Steel Oval Tub comes with 5 lbs. of Fatwood.

It looks great on the hearth and keeps your firewood neat.

Handcrafted by Turkish artisans using centuries-old techniques, it’s made of galvanized steel with an antiqued copper finish and wrought iron handles. Use it to hold fatwood fire starter, or for magazines, toys, games or plants during the off-season.

For indoor use only; not watertight.

Plan a warm, safe, and fuel-efficient Winter by getting a wood stove for your home. Estimated savings since my stove’s installation in 2008 are still running around $600 per season. I’ll saw, chop, and tote some wood for that!
