Fishkills now in oceans – a major problem…

“Growing low-oxygen zones in oceans worry scientists.”
I certainly hope scientists are not the only people who are worried.
Having experienced one Winter and one Summer fish-kill on my lake I can say from experience this is devastating to nearly everything that lives in the water.
This problem is a “dead-water” zone in lower water layers, meaning there is not enough oxygen in the water to sustain life.
I wrote an article about the experience of depleted oxygen on my lake in North Carolina and explained more about the causes and effects. Click here if you’d like to learn more about the problem and what some small pond and lake owners can do about it.
