    Stop Aging Now -Brand Hands
  • How many prescribed pills do you take per day?

Hopefully for most of you, the answer is "none."

I started investigating herbal and natural remedies about twenty years ago after a very bad experience with a prescribed medication.

I had gone in for some dental restoration work. Before getting me numbed up, the dentist asked if I was allergic to anything. I said I had only ever had a problem with codeine which made me feel extremely ill and very nauseous. I figured "enough said," and on we went with the appointment. I was given some prescription painkillers before I left the dental office and told to take two as soon as I got home, and two more before bedtime.

Can you guess? These "painkillers" apparently had as a main ingredient, codeine.

Fortunately I never got to the "two before bedtime." I was far too sick from the two I took when I got home. I called the dentist's office to ask basically, "What the Hell?" at which time I was told the minor level of codeine in the painkillers could not be making me ill.

    Oh really?

Since then I have mainly used doctors as diagnosticians - as in the case with my hyperthyroid several years ago. They can take enough blood for a full blood test, and give me a once-a-year physical, and make any recommendations they want. But the choices are mine. I also take advantage of Home Test Kits - as applicable. I have been lucky as well, to have been relatively healthy and functioning as expected. Some individuals will not be in the same situation.

But if you are, there are a lot of Native and Natural remedies out there well worth a look.

As I mentioned on the page about pH balance, I am not a doctor or even a Naturopath...just someone who likes to take a little control over what I take and what I don't. If you are currently under a doctor's care or on prescribed medications, I strongly advise you consult your doctor about any concerns.

Native Remedies was founded in 2002, and has more than 500,000 customers worldwide. They offer over 250 herbal and homeopathic remedies for adults, children and even pets.

Here are a few suggestions for dealing with the upcoming cold/flu season and also with the anxiety and trouble sleeping everyone experiences at one time or another.

Do you have a question about natural remedies?
    Ask their experts!

A very reasonable $5.95 flat-rate shipping and a very comprehensive web site make Native Remedies a solid source for natural approaches to health care and enhancement.

Native Remedies also has products for pets. My dog CoCo will probably be needing some of this fairly soon:

As with anything - start slow. Add one-at-a-time remedies, not five all at once. Give your body time to make adjustments and yourself time to assess improvements. If you are taking something to assist with any form of detox, don't let the symptoms make you stop short on the treatment. Detox means what it says...and some "cleansing" of the system is usually in order.
